In 2019, Towers and Tales celebrates its fifth birthday. Come and mark this special milestone, and help us celebrate five fantastic years of bringing some of the world's best children's writers and illustrators to Lismore.

Marion Deuchars is a Scottish born, internationally acclaimed, awardwinning illustrator. Her Let’s Make Great Art books have inspired children and young people to be creative while attempting to remove any barriers that may hold them back, instead working to build their confidence in their own style and abilities.

Siobhán Parkinson was Ireland's inaugural Laureate na nÓg and is one of Ireland's best-known authors for children and young people. As a translator, editor and publisher, she is uniquely positioned to talk about how to make brilliant books for children and what it is that makes for a truly great story for young readers.

Mags Walsh is the Director of the British Council in Ireland and was Director of Children's Books Ireland for almost ten years. Mags was the recipient of the Jerome Hynes Fellowship in the Clore Leadership Programme and has worked in various areas of the arts for children and young people.

Mags will be in conversation with Marion and Siobhán to discuss why it's so important that all young people have access to the arts and to the joy and wonder of reading.
